IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Jerolyn "Jerry"
Joan Hardy
March 27, 1927 – December 26, 2021
Jerolyn Joan was born March 27, 1927, to Charles and Margaret (Marie) (Lindquist) Mallory, in Lake Andes, South Dakota.
The family moved to Sturgis in 1934, a brief move to California, and then back to Sturgis, where she attended school and married Glen Hardy in 1944. They lived on the Hardy Alkali Ranch, where Mom called her home the 'Mouse House'. They then moved to Rapid City, followed by a big move to Great Falls, Montana; only to move back to Sturgis and then to her final home in Whitewood, SD, in 1968.
Jerry had a full life of hobbies. She loved to bowl, embroider, make bread, garden and can, and, in later years, trail ride on her horses, Sam and Taffy. She was a stay-at-home Mom, but when the kids were grown, she worked at Fort Meade for years. Jerry loved and spoiled each and every grandchild and loved holidays with the family. She loved all cats and dogs and had many pets through the years.
She was a lifelong member of the Presbyterian Church, Order of the Eastern Star, and Idle Hour Club.
Jerolyn Joan Hardy left us December 26, 2021, with her beloved Baxter by her side, at her home in Whitewood.
She is survived by her son, Bill (Sally B) Hardy of Pierre; daughters, Jan Lamphere of Whitewood, Sally Cross of Sturgis; ten grandchildren, Seth Cross, Clay Cross, Cally Cross, Amy Lamphere, Hillary Lamphere, Tyler Lamphere, Tanner Lamphere, Holly Hardy, Heather Farris, and Bridger Hardy; fourteen great-grandchildren, Kayla, Carson, and Cassidy Cross, Randi Beaudoin, Cooper Cross, Jake and Kaitlyn Baxley, Skyler Livermont, Terrisa Henry, Brian Lamphere, Kim Neely, Kelsey, Jessie, and Patrick Lamphere, eight great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Glen; sister, Jackie; brother, Andy; son-in-law, Bill; and infant grandson, Jeb.
