It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jerri Lenore Smith, 64, on February 8, 2025.

She was born on March 15, 1960, Jerri was a fiery, fun-sized force of nature who lived each day to the fullest. She was a proud survivor of breast cancer, overcoming the disease with resilience and strength, and continued to embrace life with love, laughter, and joy. Jerri was a dedicated mother and grandmother, who cherished her children and grandchildren dearly. She had a deep love for the outdoors, finding peace and adventure in camping and trail riding. Known for her quick wit and irreverent sense of humor, she was unapologetically herself, often first to crack a joke or pull a playful prank. She had a unique ability to make those around her smile, and her infectious spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Jerri is survived by her best friend of more than 15 years, Loree Westbrook; father, Jerry Schottmuller; three children, April Pehringer (Jeremy Kitchens), Scott (Rita) Drury, and Amanda Smith; seven grandchildren, Aaliyah, Austin, Caitlyn, Alexis, Victoria, Gabe, and Tyson; three sisters, Missy (Lawrence) Braun, Bobbi (Ed) Safer, Toni (Dennis) McMillin; two brothers, Shawn James and Mike (Kasia) James; her dog and trusted companion, Lucky; numerous nieces and nephews along with all her amazing friends.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Marie Schottmuller; and two brothers, Mark James and Kevin James.

We will be celebrating her life with a visitation on Thursday, February 20, 2025, from 4-6 pm at Kinkade Funeral Chapel and a funeral service on Friday, February 21, 2025, at 10 AM at Kinkade Funeral Chapel. Burial will immediately follow at Hermosa Cemetery in Hermosa.
