Jerry Lee Bertalot, Jr., 40, Sturgis, died Wednesday, January 19, 2011, at his residence near Sturgis.

Visitation will be noon until 5:00 p.m. on Monday at the Kinkade Funeral Chapel in Sturgis. A rosary will be offered at 7:00 p.m. at the church on Monday evening.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 25, 2011, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Sturgis with Fr. Arnold Kari officiating. Burial will follow at St. Aloysius Cemetery in Sturgis.

Jerry was born May 23, 1970, at Deadwood, SD, to Jerry L. and Donna (Bueno) Bertalot, Sr. Jerry grew up in Whitewood and attended Sturgis Brown High School. He worked at Loving Care Assisted Living in Spearfish. After completing his GED, he attended Western Dakota Vo Tech. He was a press runner at Allison Publishing for nine years.

Jerry married Carolyn Moelter at Sturgis on July 5, 2001.

Jerry was employed at Lowe Roofing in Whitewood at the time of his death.

Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Bertalot, Sturgis; his mother, Donna (Dale) Long, Devils Tower, WY; four daughters, Charissia, Jordan, Gabrielle, and Emma Bertalot, all of Sturgis; one brother, Mike (Ginger Beedie) Asher, El Cajon, CA; three sisters, Tina Cundall, Rapid City, Toni (Glenn) Reimer, Sturgis, and Wendy (Dan) Perkins, Rapid City; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Jerry was preceded in death by his father; mother in law, Linda Moelter; grandfathers, Herman Bueno, Sr., and Bill Bertalot; and his grandmother, Violet Bertalot.

A memorial has been established.
