Jerry Bryce Davis, 55, of Pueblo, CO, and formerly of Sturgis, died July 3, 2015, in Pueblo after fighting a short battle with renal cell cancer.
Jerry was born October 26, 1959, in Deadwood, SD, to G. Wayne and Mary Lou Davis. He grew up in Sturgis and graduated from Brown High School in 1978. He started his career as a jeweler at age 13 at Neugebauer Jewelers in Sturgis. He continued developing his craft throughout his life, with the last 25 years working at Irby Jewelers in Pueblo. He considered being a master jeweler his life-long work and passion. He and Jennifer and family enjoyed camping, fishing, boating, and generally being outdoors.
Jerry is survived by his mother, Mary Lou Davis of Rapid City, SD; long-time friend, Jennifer Irby and her children, Shane, Sonny, and Sarah of Pueblo, CO; siblings, Kurt (Meri) Davis of Reno, NV, Rod (Kimberly) Davis of Lead, SD, and Kathy (Jesse) Lewis of Black Hawk, SD. He is also survived by nieces, Stephanie Sorensen, Lindsey Waddell, and Renee Davis; and nephews, Brad Davis, Cable Davis, Casey Davis, and Brian Davis and their families. Several cousins also survive him.
He was preceded in death by his dad, G. Wayne Davis, and maternal and paternal grandparents.
The Davis and Irby families would like to thank Jen G. and Pueblo Hospice for their exceptional care of Jerry during his ordeal. Jerry will forever be missed and always in our thoughts.
Graveside services will be at Bear Butte Cemetery in Sturgis, SD., Saturday, September 19, 2015 at 4:00 p.m.
