Jerry Wayne Funell, 68, White Owl, SD, died Saturday, November 23, 2013 at the Sturgis Regional Hospital.

Visitation will be 8 a.m. until time of service on Friday at the Kinkade Funeral Chapel in Sturgis.

Funeral service will be 1:30 p.m. Friday, November 29, 2013 at the Kinkade Funeral Chapel in Sturgis with Pastor Harold Delbridge officiating. Burial with follow in White Owl Cemetery, White Owl, SD.

Jerry was born January 6, 1945 at Sturgis, SD, to Archie and Ella (Pence) Funell. He grew up on the family ranch and attended school at Sunshine Bible Academy and graduated from Sturgis Senior High School. Following a year at Augustana College he was drafted and served his country honorably in the United States Army in Germany.

Following his discharge he returned to the family ranch where he was engaged in farming and ranching for the rest of his life.

Survivors include his sister, Betty Funell (Margaret), White Owl, numerous cousins, and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, parents and one brother.
