Jerry Lee Goodroad was born on October 10, 1944 in Sturgis, SD, to Lyle C. and Berniece L. (Ramsey) Goodroad.
Jerry met the love of his life, Bonnie Straw, and they were eventually married in Deadwood. Together, Jerry and Bonnie resided in the Newell and Nisland areas, where they raised their family. Jerry enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping with his family.
Jerry Goodroad, 76, died on Tuesday, March 9, 2021, at his home in Nisland.
He is survived by his wife, Bonnie Goodroad of Nisland; his sons, Jerred Goodroad of Rapid City, and Clinton Goodroad of Belle Fourche; his daughters, Jessica Bruce of Sturgis, and Laura (Charles) Cleveland of Anderson, SC; five grandchildren, Nicholas and Harley Cleveland, Harry and Hailey Bruce, and Iris Goodroad; and two sisters, Cathie Edwards of Rapid City, and Jean (Ronald) Ethington of West Monroe, LA.
Jerry is preceded in death by his parents, Lyle and Berniece Goodroad; three sisters, Carol Baker, Shirley Smith, and Louise Thomas; and a brother, Dale Goodroad.
A remembrance gathering for Jerry will be held at a later date.
