Jerry Huffman, 89, passed away on January 9, 2025 at the Ft. Meade VA Medical Center. Jerry was born in Spearfish, SD on February 5, 1935 to Carl and Hazel Martin (Smith) Huffman, one of eight siblings.
Jerry joined the Marines and was enlisted from 1951 to 1954. He fought in the Korean War and was an Amtrak tank mechanic. In the 1960's, he moved to California where he worked in auto body shops and was known for being one of the best in his field. He was an abalone diver and commercial fisherman, and worked on oil rigs in Wyoming. Later on in life, he and his wife, Sally (Gardner) Huffman worked together making estate sales for a living.
Jerry enjoyed spending time with family and friends. This included his daughters; Linda Willson and Kathleen Jones, four grandchildren, nine great grandchildren. He always loved playing pranks on all he knew and always had a great sense of humor.
He and Sally came home to Sturgis, SD in 2000 to spend the rest of their remaining years. He will always be loved and remembered by all who knew him.
A small private service will be held on Wednesday, January 15, 2025 at Black Hills National Cemetery.
