Jerry Dean Price, 73, of Whitewood, SD, died suddenly Friday evening, October 14, 2022, at his home.
Jerry Dean Price was born to Vern Price and Agnes (Herberling) Price-Paulson on September 16, 1949, in Pueblo, CO., joining four other siblings, Bill, Bud, Bob, and Donna. His family moved to SD, and he attended school in Beresford, SD. After graduation he moved to Rapid City and attended Nation College of Business. He enlisted in the Navy in 1969, with the 122 nd attack squadron he was and E5 Petty Officer and 2 nd class NCO. He was honorably discharged in 1972, with National Service Defense Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, and Armed Forces Expedionary Medal. His favorite motto was "If your gonna do something do it right the first time."
Jerry retired from Meade County after 20 years as a corrections officer. Jerry enjoyed fishing, hunting, going shooting at the gun range, and his weekly coffee hour with his friends.
Jerry is survived by his wife, Bonnie Price; his son, Travis Price; and daughter, Melissa (Michael) Burns; five grandchildren, TJ, Ashley, Krysten, Jeremy, and Kaylee; and Aunt Irene (Bob) Tapkin.
Jerry is preceded in death by his parents, Vern Price, and Agnes (Heberling) Price-Paulson, siblings, Bob, Buddy, Billy, and Donna, nephew, Bud Nelson, and daughter, Christina.
Committal services with military honors will be 2:00 p.m. on Friday, October 21, 2022, at Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis.
