Evelyn was born July 6, 1919 , at Murdo, SD, to Harley and Nora (McCullough) Luken. She was raised on the family farm and ranch. She moved to
Baldwin, WI, after her marriage to Art Delander. After his death , she returned to Murdo where she worked as a waitress and maid. She married Louie Fedderson. After his death , she married John King and they ranched at Murdo.

Evelyn moved to Pierre where she worked as a waitress. She met Clinton Shipley and they moved to Watertown where they were married.

Evelyn moved to Hill City in 1975 where sheand Clinton "Tuffy" operated a gas station. Evelyn also worked at the Golden Spike Motel and the Hines Sawmill until 1981. She moved to Redfield where she worked at Leo's Good Food Café. She moved to Rapid City in 1987 where her family and grandchildren were most important.

On Sunday's there was no T.V. Evelyn enjoyed playing her gospel and country records. She enjoyed square dancing in her younger years.

She was a member of the Methodist Church in Watertown and Murdo. Evelyn Shipley, 93, New Underwood, died Monday, April 29, 2013, at the New Underwood Good Samaritan Center.

Survivors include her sons, Larry (Donna) Fedderson, Sturgis, and David (Patty) King, Box Elder; daughters, Diane (Walter) Wagemann, Ashton, SD, Darlene (Bill) Kraus, Northville, SD, Joan King, Rapid City, and Jean (Ray) Raaphorst, Rapid City; brothers, Lowell Luken, Rapid City, and Les Corey, Puyallup, WA; sisters, Ada Block, Hoaquim, WA, and Betty Lou Elzig, Renton, WA; 13 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her four husbands, one brother, one sister, and one great-grandson.

A memorial has been established to the Good Samaritan Center in New Underwood.
