Joann Augusta Reichardt, 75, of Sturgis, SD, died, Monday, February 11, 2013, at her home.

Visitation will be Thursday, February 14, 2013, from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Kinkade Funeral Chapel in Sturgis. Funeral services will be Thursday, February 14, 2013, at 6:00 p.m. with Father Arnold Kari officiating. A Mass of Christian burial will take place in Humboldt, SD, on Saturday, February 16, 2013, at 1:00 p.m. at St. Ann's Catholic Church with Father Robert Krantz officiating. Burial will follow at St. Ann's Cemetery in Humboldt.

Joann was born in Hartford, SD, on October 27, 1937, to Gus and Viola (Leisinger) Buchheim. She grew up in the Humboldt/Hartford area and attended school at St. Ann's Catholic School in Humboldt. Joann graduated from Humboldt High School. After high school, she worked in Sioux Falls until she married Robert Reichardt in January of 1959. They lived in Hawaii, Humboldt, and White River and then settled in Sturgis in the mid 1960's. They owned and operated Bob's Auction 17 years. Joann worked at the food service at the Sturgis Hospital and in various restaurants in town with the last one being the Chat-n-Chew before its closure. She was known for her hard work and playful jabbing of customers.

Joann was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Sturgis. She enjoyed dancing, playing cards (especially cribbage), trips to Deadwood, and watching any kind of sports.

Survivors include her son, Randy Reichardt of Spearfish; daughter, Rhonda (Richard) Gunhammer of Interior; brother Bernie (Kay) Buchheim of Sioux Falls; sister, Sheri (Larry) Harner of Sturgis; three grandsons, Ryan (Rhiannon) Reichardt, Dustin (Brianne) Gunhammer, and Shane Gunhammer; four great-grandchildren, Xavier, Ciara, Rainie, and MacKenzie; and a sister-in-law, Opal Uthe of Chester.

She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Roxanne and brother, William Charles Buchheim.
