Joanne K.(Kuykendall) Foertsch, 76, Newcastle, died Sunday, June 26, 2011 at the Campbell County Memorial Hospital in Gillette, WY.

Memorial services will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, June 30, 2011 at the Kinkade Funeral Chapel in Sturgis with Pastor Larry Green officiating. Inturnment will be in the Oak Ridge Cemetery near Deadwood, SD.

Joanne was born May 5, 1935 at Beaver County, OK, to Hollis and Carthel (Dower) Kuykendall. She moved to South Dakota in 1936 and lived at Sulphur. The family moved to Fruitdale where they farmed and ranched.

Joanne earned her GED and later attended two years of college at Spearfish.

She was married in 1954 and after a divorce she married again in 1963. Following another divorce she married "Chub" Foertsch in 1976 and the couple raised 10 children and one grandson. She loved gardening and garage sales. She enjoyed art and craftwork. She also loved her animals. She had a great sense of humor and was good at practical jokes.

Her family was very important to her. She enjoyed spending time with them. They were her greatest pleasure.

Survivors include her children; Linda (Terry) Bruce, Gillette, WY, Glenda (Clarence) Hedgecoth, Pikeville, TN, Alma (Jerry) Smith, Miles City, MT, Billy Eatherton, Newcastle, WY, Patrick Eatherton, Newcastle, WY, Alta (Jim) Bainer, Newcastle,WY; Tina Humble, Gillette, WY, C.J. Humble, Newcastle, WY; sisters Annalou Lamphear, Sturgis, Doris Oblander, Billings, MT; one brother Gale Kuykendall, Cohassett, MN; also 15 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Chub, two sons, Robert Eatherton and Galen Humble; one sister Faye Leveque, brothers, Hollis Kuykendall and Jack Kuykendall, one great grandson; her parents and grandparents.
