Moorcroft, WY | Joannie M. Gray, 56, died Tuesday, May 6, 2014. Joannie was born in Munich Germany to Julian and Viola Luna. Joannie was the first of seven children. She followed in her father's footsteps and joined the US Army in 1976, where she found and married the love of her life, Steve Gray. They were both honorably discharged from the Army and found residency in Alabama. They had 2 daughters, Crystal, and Stephanie. Later, in 1996 Steve passed away and Joannie moved home to Texas with the girls. In 2007, Joannie needed a new adventure in her life and moved to Wyoming. She and her daughters made a new life for themselves and found a home. Joannie met Ronnie Ulmer and they were partners in love for 7 years until April of 2014 when Ronnie passed away. Joannie is survived by both daughters, Crystal of AL, and Stephanie (T.J.) of Moorcroft, WY; six grandchildren, Jordan Gray, Kaylyn Colwell, Corey Gray, Jamya Hardrick, DJ Hardrick, and Traven Huseby; six siblings, J. Michael Luna, AL, Janice Kantor, OH, Joseph Luna, MO, Jeff Luna, GA, Julie and Greg "Law" Savala, TX, Monica Cantu, TX, and many nieces and nephews. She will be missed a lot by her many, many, friends near and far. Joannie is preceded in death by her husband, Steve Gray; lifelong friend, Ronnie Ulmer; and parents, Julian and Viola Luna. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., with services at 10:00 a.m. May 9 at Black Hills Funeral Home in Sturgis. Burial will follow at 11:00 a.m. at Black Hills National Cemetery.
