He also learned a lot about carpentry and cement work while he worked for a general contractor for several years; he retired in 2004. John is survived by his wife, Virginia, four sons, David (Zan) of Battleground, WA, Chris (Mary) of Earlysville, VA, Rick (Kathryn) of Reno, NV, and Michael (Cindy) of Gillette, WY. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, a half-brother, a half-sister, and a son, Randy. At his request there will be no funeral.
