IN LOVING MEMORY OF
John Arthur
Chamley
April 23, 1982 – February 7, 2023
John's sweet soul was called home on February 7th, 2023. It was only God's plan that John's time here was done. We will forever be grateful for every moment that we were blessed to share with him.
John was born on April 23rd, 1982, in Seattle, WA to his parents, Gene and Jane. He spent his early years living in Seattle, and eventually moved to South Dakota. John spent his school years in Sturgis where he made many lifelong friends. After he graduated from Sturgis High School, John's love for computers and technology led him to pursue a degree in Computer Science at Western Dakota Tech. He graduated in 2009, at the top of his class with high honors.
John and Sarah were married on December 12 th , 2006. From this love, they were blessed with their two children. John saw Dylan and Jayden as his two greatest accomplishments. His most precious time was spent with them.
John's free spirit took him on many adventures and to many places. He loved people unconditionally and saw every stranger as a friend. John's love was truly unlike any other – to know him was to love him and to be loved by him. He always saw value in the things most people took for granted. John was a jack of all trades. He loved exploring the earth, collecting things, and creating friendships. John also loved to serve people through his joy of cooking. Feeding people was one of his greatest talents. When winter came, you could always find John at the top of the mountain, which is where he felt most at home. Snowboarding was one of his greatest passions and he loved to share those runs with anyone who took on the chance.
John waits in Heaven for his two children, Dylan and Jayden, and their mom, Sarah; his mother, who he called his "beacon light", Jane and his stepfather, Ed; sisters, Thea (Aaron) Holt, Angela (David) Beck; brothers, Wayne Lindbloom and Mark Chamley; nieces, Elizabeth, Sara (Ryan), Halli (Koby), Micah (Jake), and Faith; nephews, Stephen (Tara), Kolt, Shawn, Andrew and Byron; cousins, great nieces and nephews, and all his beloved friends.
John was welcomed into Heaven by his dad, Gene; his grandparents, Judith and George Chamley, Norma and Ralph Peters; his niece, Sydney; his aunt, Georgia Chamley; his uncles, Ken Peters and Art Peters; and several special friends.
We thank you for loving John and remembering him. In his own words… "happy everyday" … "smiles for miles".
