John Edward Miller, 84, of Sturgis, passed away on Monday, November 2, 2026 in Spearfish, SD.  He was born on December 4, 1941 in Torrington, Wyoming to Jess and Eulalia (Jeffries) Miller.

The majority of his youth was spent in Lingle, Wyoming.  In 1960, he married Carol Sue Shockey in Hot Springs, SD.  From this union, he and Carol had seven sons; Jeff, Kenneth, James, Eric, Ricky, Shawn, and John.  John spent a lifetime farming various locations until retirement in South Dakota.  John enjoyed the friendships he made at the Sturgis Veteran's Club.

He is survived by his wife, Carol Sue Miller, his sons, daughter in law Lori, two sisters; Bonnie and Colleen, eight grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren as well as other loving family members and friends.

John was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Beverly and an infant brother, Russell.

He will be laid to rest privately at Bear Butte Cemetery in Sturgis.  Friends and family are invited to a celebration of life at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 4, 2026 at the Sturgis Veteran's Club.
