John Delbert Hamling 57 of Sturgis passed away Thursday, December 4, 2008 at Avera Sacred Heart Hospital in Yankton.

A funeral service will be 10:00am Tuesday, December 9, 2008 at the Foothills Community Baptist Church in Piedmont, SD, with Rev. Mike Crippen officiating. Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the funeral at the church.  Interment will follow at the Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis; with military honors provided by the Sturgis Veteran's Honor Guard.

Survivors include his sister, Colleen Riley of California and numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, John Hamling Sr., Ona Fay Collins, sisters, Jeanie, Noreen, and brother Norman.
