John Thomas "Tom" Millett, 76, Caputa, SD, and formerly of 15341 Longview Road, Rapid City, died Thursday, June 26, 2014, at Rapid City Regional Hospital.

Memorial services will be held at 10:00am on Saturday, July 5, 2014, at Harvest Community Church in Rapid City with Pastor Steven Lindsay officiating.

Tom was born on November 29, 1937, in Plainfield, New Jersey to John Joseph and Marion "Sally" (Mitchell) Millett. He was a great dad, beloved husband, and wonderful friend. His kind, friendly, and funny mannerisms touched many people. His gift of being a "people person" served him well throughout his life and his career as a salesman. An adventurer and traveler, he lived everywhere from California to Maine and many places in between. One of his favorite, most recent "jobs" was as a greeter at the Sam's Club in Rapid City. He flirted with all the girls, from toddler to elderly- having as he called it "a five second relationship". We will truly miss his bright smile and wonderful hugs.

Tom is survived by his loving wife, Laura Lea (Reece) Millett, Caupta; mother of his children, Connie Marie (Coillot) Millett, North Augusta, SC; daughters, Cindy Marie Olson, Caputa, and Heather Dawn Massey, North Augusta, SC; sons, John Mitchell Millett, Beach Island, SC, and Jason Thomas Millett, North Augusta, SC; sisters, Susan Millett and Sally Jean Meeker; brother, George Millett; eight grandchildren, and one great-grandson.

He is preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Peter Millett.

A memorial has been established to the American Stroke Association.
