Obituary

John Milos, born in Lead, SD, on July 6, 1929, to Nicholas and Pauline (Kojan) Milos, he was a twin, one of seven children. He returned to Lead, SD, following his tour of duty, and married Paula Engebretson (Bauer) on January 5, 1957. They were married for 19 years and had three sons.

John worked for Homestake Mining Company for 42 years until his retirement in 1991. He was an active member of United Steelworkers of America Local 7044 and served as recording secretary for several years. He loved walking, dancing, big band music, bowling, playing dominos with his dear friend, Esther Roth, and taking leisurely drives, especially through Spearfish Canyon. His parents, Nicholas and Pauline Milos, were immigrants from Croatia, and John loved to tell stories of the rich traditions of "Slavonian Alley" in Lead.
