Obituary

John "Dusty" Wyatt Jensen, 30, Harrisburg, NE passed away Saturday, February 15, 2025. Memorial Services for "Dusty" will be at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, February 26 at the Central Meade County Community Center in Union Center, SD. Arrangements are under the care of Kinkade Funeral Chapel of Sturgis.

John Dusty Wyatt Jensen was born at Union Center, SD on April 2, 1994, to Larry and Tammy (Hymans) Jensen. He was raised on a ranch near Union Center, attending country schools at Atall, Enning, and Opal, before attending Faith High School. Growing up he showed calves and lambs in 4-H. He also enjoyed riding horses and dirt bikes.

After leaving school, he worked on various ranches. Spending a lot of time on Dan Wicks' ranch helping with the day to day before his passing in 2013. He then moved on to the Newell area, always finding work to be done. There was never a task he was afraid of doing, and he pitched in wherever needed whether he liked it or not. He did everything from calving, fencing, building windbreak, putting in and fixing waterline, mechanic work, riding horses, welding, or driving truck. He was a jack of all trades and usually had a good dog by his side.

In November of 2016 he welcomed his first child, Lillie into the world, with Wyatt and Waverlie to follow. He loved his children, and they absolutely adored him.

After working on ranches, he became a full-time truck driver. Driving for Roger Gunderson and Travis Linch mainly pulling a bull rack but also anything they told him to hook on to. And this last year he finally bought his own Peterbilt truck. He always loved trucks even when he was little. He never met a stranger, was full of big smiles and lots of laughter at any event whether it be branding, working in the shop, or various other tasks, it was always a good time.

After years of friendship, he married Destiny Wesner on October 8, 2022, in Newell, SD. They resided on her parent's place in Harrisburg, NE with a few cows. When not in the truck he could be found helping them with their operation of planting, haying, and running their cows. He was so willing and encouraging to try new things. He always did his absolute best. In 2023, they welcomed a little girl, Barkley into the world.

He is survived by his wife Destiny; children, Lillie, Wyatt, Waverlie, and Barkley; parents Larry and Tammy Jensen; siblings, Christina (Stanley) Graham, Micole (Dusty) Braun, Taylon (Gerri) Jensen, and Dally Jensen; nieces and nephews, Paisley, Clancey, and Tyann Braun, Taycey and Taygen Jensen, Klacey and Sawyer Graham; grandmother Mary Jensen; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Preceded in death by grandparents John Jensen and Jim and Ellen Hymans; uncle Robert Jensen; aunt Linda Hymans.
