Jon Kevin Baker

We love and miss him very much.   He will never be forgotten.

Jon Kevin Baker, 61, passed away September 5, 2024 at his home in Rapid City, South Dakota. He was 61 years old with a birthday September 13.

Born September 13, 1962, in Iowa City, Iowa.  Moving to Hot Springs, South Dakota at an early age, he considered that his home.  He attended Hot Springs High School, where he loved playing basketball and football, graduating with the the class of 1980. After living in several locations throughout his life, he returned home to South Dakota in 2022.

Jon had a long successful career in restaurant management, but in his last year, he made a career adjustment to work with seniors in a retirement home which he said was his most enjoyable and satisfying job.

Hobbies included attending estate sales, auctions, fishing, watching sports and traveling.

He is survived by his mother , Mary(Miller) Baker of Columbus, GA; two sisters, Anne (Baker) Haynie of Columbus, GA and Cathy (Baker) Juarez of Alamo, TX; a brother, Jim Baker of Custer, SD; three nieces, three nephews, and 10 great nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death was father, Leroy H.Baker.  We love and miss him very much and he will never be forgotten.  The family will hold a private memorial in the future.
