Obituary

José Jessie Arguello died October 19, 2025 at home.

He was born February 28, 1942, in Rapid City, SD to José Emiliano Arguello and Matilde M. Arguello.

He married Donna Barnes in Rapid City, SD in 1959 and started their family, sons; Fidel Arguello, Joseph Arguello, Richard Arguello, Jame Arguello and daughter, Tina Clevland. In 1967 Jose divorced, then later married Kathleen Mathotra in 1968 and started a new family. They moved to Wyoming and he adopted step-children, Sheila Mathotra and Neal Mathotra, creating a family of Arguello's. Jessie and Kathleen had Sabrina and Denis Jay and adopted Amarae. Jessie also had three children out of wedlock who were considered family; Sharlene, Jessie and Tammy.

He is survived by his wife; Kathleen, sons; Fidel, Richard, James and Neal Arguello, daughters; Tina, Sheila, Sabrina, Amarae and Tammy, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren, and sister; Josephine Reber.

Jessie was preceded in death by his parents, children; Joseph, Dennis Jay, Sharlene and Jessie, grandchildren; Stephen and Kara, siblings; Fidel, Emilo, Theresa, Ruth, Bada and Erma.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 29, 2025 at Believer's Fellowship Church in Sturgis, SD beginning at 11:00am with a visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial will take place at Bear Butte Cemetery.
