Joseph Michael Dropik the 4th was born in Minneapolis, MN, on October 31, 1975, to Joseph Michael Dropik III and Donna (Elias) Kolb.

He attended Patrick Henry high school, after which he joined the Air Force as a munitions specialist. He was stationed in England where he married and had a daughter Kelsey. He then was stationed at Rapid City, South Dakota, where he had a son Trei Camden Dropik. After 20 years of service in the Air Force, he retired. He loved fishing with his son Trei, watching sports and seeking new adventures. He absolutely loved his work; he will be dearly missed by family friends and loved ones.

Joseph Michael Dropik, IV, Rapid City, SD, died Sunday, July 9, 2017, at the VA Black Hills Health Care Center at Fort Meade, SD.

Survivors include his mother, Donna (Pat) Kolb; daughter, Kelsey Dropik; son, Trei Dropik and special friend, Shelly Gray.

He was preceded in death by his father, grandparents, step- brother, aunt and uncle.

Visitation will be one hour prior to services.

Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Thursday, July 13, 2017, at the Kinkade Funeral Chapel in Sturgis. Burial follows at the Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis with military honors.
