Joshua James Adams, 34, of Sturgis, South Dakota, passed away August 31, 2022, at Monument Health Sturgis.

Joshua James Adams, or simply Josh Adams because he's not in trouble and we don't need to use all his names, was born December 5, 1987, to Chuck and Sherri Adams in Sturgis, SD. He joined his older brother, and first best friend, Cole. Josh grew up, attended school, and graduated from high school in Sturgis.

Josh was a true outdoorsman. He spent most of his time hunting, fishing, and being outside. His favorite time was on the trails and off the road in his pickup. He truly enjoyed fishing and hunting, all a sport to him, especially if he had a tall tale to go with his excursions. He loved spending time with family and friends in the great outdoors. His pride would swell when he helped someone on a fishing or hunting trip. He bragged as often as possible about his best hunting and fishing buddies: Taton and Oakley, two of his favorite little people. When it was winter Josh could be found on the slopes with his brother, Cole, enjoying time on skis, a snowboard, or snowmobile.

Josh met and became engaged to the love of his life, Kristine Laber. They loved to travel and hunt together, sharing love and laughter along the way.

Josh is survived by his mother, Sherri Adams; special friend, Bob Kobes; older brother, Cole (Angie) Burgess; fiancé, Kristine Laber; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and the numerous little people he loved.

He was preceded in death by his father, Chuck Adams; and all of his grandparents.
