Joyce was born in Washington, Iowa, on June 1, 1934, the daughter of Clarence "Mike" and Marion (Helmer) Logan. Joyce graduated from Washington High School and went on to graduate from the College of Nursing, at the state University of Iowa.

Joyce enjoyed serving as a Pennington County Public Health nurse in Rapid City, SD, and later, as the nurse at the Box Elder Job Corps Center, near Nemo, SD.

Joyce B. Bowman, 82, passed away on Saturday, May 20, 2017, at the Clarkson Mountain View Health Care Facility in Rapid City, SD.

Survivors include her sons and their families: Mike (Mary, and children, Jason, Josh, and Kelly) Thalacker, of Whitehouse Station, NJ; Mark (Kathie O'Donnell Thalacker) Thalacker, of Rapid City, SD; Matt (Terry, and children, Kattie, and Jessie) Thalacker, also of Rapid City, SD; as well as her stepdaughters, Kathy Daniells, of Spearfish, SD, and Vicky Anderson (daughter, Tessa Allen and granddaughters, Shea and Macie Allen), of Deadwood, SD.

She was preceded in death by both of her parents; her first husband, Robert Thalacker; her second husband, Les Bowman; her brother, Robert Logan; her sister, Elizabeth "Betty" Lantz; her stepson, Jeff Bowman; and step son-in-law, Paul Daniells.

Services will be held at the Black Hills National Cemetery, Friday June 16, 2017 at 10:30 AM.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to either the Nemo Church, in Nemo, SD, or to the Cornerstone Rescue Mission in Rapid City.
