Joyce Colleen Bowman, 79, of Spearfish died Thursday, April 19, 2012 at her home. A small family memorial service will be held at a later date.

Joyce was born Sunday, September 4, 1932 in Lead to Bert and Phyllis (Owens) Carter.

She is survived by two daughters, Kathy Daniells of Spearfish and Vicky (Martin) Anderson of Deadwood; one granddaughter, Tessa (Jesse) Allen of Deadwood and one great-granddaughter, Shea Allen of Deadwood; one brother, Jerry (Barb) Carter of Spearfish; and two special friends, Arlene Cox of Deadwood and Tom Zupet of Lennox.

Joyce was preceded in death by both parents, infant sister Patricia, sister Karen Nelson, son Jeff Bowman, and son-in-law Paul Daniells.

A memorial has been established to the Twin City Animal Shelter in Lead.
