Joyce F. Kurtz of Whitewood, SD went to her heavenly home on November 23, 2021 after a courageous battle with cancer.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and a friend to everyone she met. She gave so much of herself to her family and community, serving the city of Whitewood in many capacities. She prided herself in attending every event her children and grandchildren participated in, traveling extensively to wherever they may be. She also spent her life traveling the county with her husband Darwin (Hank), while running their trucking company. She loved to travel.

Grateful for sharing her life are her children, Laura (Dennis) Clausen Sturgis, SD; Deb (Ted) Bartunek, Rapid City, SD; and Bill (Jen) Kurtz Chamberlain, SD; seven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; her sister Lyndell (Glenn) Martin, Culver City, CA; and multiple nieces and nephews.

She is proceeded in death by her husband Darwin Kurtz.
