Joyce Evon (Wester) Jones Williams was born in Nisland, SD, June 22, 1931, to Elmer Carl Wester and Bertha (Stoddard) Wester. In 1933, they moved to Sturgis, SD, where she attended school and graduated in 1950. She married Spencer Phillip Jones on September 5, 1951, and to this union four children were born; Norman Spencer, Robert Lee, Richard Leroy, and LaDonna Deanne. In 1971, she married Loral "Bob" Vale Williams.

She attended LPN school and worked at both the Sturgis hospital and the Massa Berry Clinic. In the 80's, she was hired to work at Ingalls Department Store for the Christmas season, and stayed there for the next 14 years. She enjoyed belonging to First Presbyterian Church where she played in the bell choir for six years. She was also active in Beta Sigma Phi and the order of the Eastern Star, Daughters of the Nile.

Joyce Evon (Wester) Jones Williams, 87, of Rapid City died Sunday, August 26, 2018, at Regional Home plus Hospice in Rapid City.

Joyce is survived by three sons and one daughter; eight grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Robert Clayton; both husbands; a granddaughter; and a great-grandson.

Visitation will Friday, September 7, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at Kinkade Funeral Chapel in Sturgis.

Funeral services will be Saturday, September 8, 2018, at 2:00 PM at First Presbyterian Church, Sturgis, SD.

A memorial has been established.
