IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Judith Joan
Schweigerdt
March 21, 1944 – December 30, 2014
Judy was born in Sturgis, SD, on March 21, 1944, to Merle and Jennie Young. She moved to Rapid City, SD, in the early fifties and attended school in Rapid City and worked for various employers until her marriage to Jim Schweigerdt on October 28, 1960. She liked bowling and coached many junior bowlers through the years. Later in life, she worked out of the home as a bookkeeper. On a Sunday afternoon, you could quite often find her shouting "B-I-N-G-O" at the local TREA. She cherished the moments working outdoors in the garden and doting over her flowers. She loved running around "treasure hunting" at various garage and rummage sales with friends. She enjoyed making Jim think he was the boss. Her concern was the wellbeing of her family and friends.
Judith "Judy" Schweigerdt walked the path to heaven on December 30, 2014.
She is survived by her husband, James "Jim"; four sons, Jerry (Cassie), Rapid City, Jeff, Rapid City, Jack (Sheryl), Pahrump, NV, and John "JR" (Christina), Boulder, CO; five grandchildren, Mathew, Charles, Abigail, Andrew, and Luke; one sister, Henrietta (Kenny) McNenny; one brother, Merle Dale (Linda) Young; sister-in-law, Janice (Dennis) Booth; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. She was also considered an adopted mother for many individuals.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Merle and Jennie Young; and one brother, Gerald Young.
A memorial has been established, in lieu of flowers, please consider Nathan Adelson Hospice of Pahrump, Nevada.
