Judy Charlene Finck, 71, Newell, died Saturday, October 22, 2011 at the Sturgis Regional Senior Care Center.

Memorial services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, October 25, 2011 at the First Lutheran Church in Newell with Pastor Brad Scott officiating.

A memorial has been established.

Judy was born December 29, 1939 at Murdo, SD, to Charles and Ada (Swan) Brunson. She was the fourth in a family of ten children, raised on a ranch in Mellette County. She attended Prospect Valley Country School and graduated from Belvidere High School in 1959. During the summer months she moved to Pierre and worked at the State Capitol Building.

Judy moved to Mission, SD, and worked at the State Welfare Department. After retiring from a typing position she moved to Omaha, NE for a while. She returned to her parents and worked at the Murdo Hospital.

On January 15, 1968 she married Kenneth Finck at Rapid City. They returned to Kenny's ranch where they lived until 1975 when they moved to a farm near Nisland, SD. They retired and sold the farm and moved to Newell where they have lived since.

Survivors include her husband, Kenneth Finck, Newell; two daughters, Kim (Larry) Nelson, Gillette, WY, Koreen (Matt) O'Dea, Vale, SD; three brothers, Darrel Brunson, Rapid City, Jack (Cindy) Brunson, Edgemont, SD, and Jim Brunson; one sister, Sue (Terry) Byrd, Belle Fourche; also 9 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and three sisters.
