Judy Elaine Tishmack, 61, Newell, died Monday, November 10, 2014, at her residence after a five year battle with cancer.

A rosary will be held at St. Mary's Star of the Sea Catholic Church in Newell, Thursday, November 13, 2014, at 5:30 p.m.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held at St. Mary's Star of the Sea Catholic Church on Friday, November 14, 2014, at 10:00 a.m. with Father Tyler Dennis and Monsignor Michael Woster officiating. Burial will follow at Black Hills National Cemetery.

Judy Elaine Grandpre was born October 7, 1953 to Delore and Eva (Nordeen) Grandpre in Elgin, ND. She attended grade school in Carson, ND, and high school in McIntosh, SD.

In 1971, she married Donald Tishmack. They lived in McIntosh while Don was in basic training. They later moved to Hampton, VA, for two years while Don was in the Army, and had a son, Jesse. After returning to SD, a daughter, Amanda, was born. They eventually settled in Newell, SD, where they lived for the past 40 years.

Judy worked for Belle Fourche Irrigation District and First Bank for 35 years. She served on the library board, Newell school foundation board and was a member and officer for the Altar Society at St. Mary's Star of the Sea Catholic Church. Judy also thoroughly enjoyed quilting.

She is survived by her husband, Don; son, Jesse (Jerry) Tishmack, Van Alstyne, TX; daughter, Amanda (Troy) Herman, Rapid City, SD; three grandchildren, Mason Herman, Korbin Herman and Kristen Donaho; one sister, Dee Huston, Twin Falls, ID; and two brothers, Ron (Sharon) Grandpre, Moses Lake, WA, and Carrol (Dawne) Grandpre, Rapid City, SD.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Delore and Eva.
