IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Julia Ann
Shyne
July 13, 1946 – April 2, 2019
Julia Ann "Judy" Shyne was born in Rapid City, SD, on July 13, 1946, to John and Margaret (Gishwiller) Shyne. She was the 4th of six children, and she knew she was the favorite. She was a lifelong resident of Sturgis, SD. She graduated from Sturgis High School in 1964, and then attended Karl Johns Beauty College in Rapid City. After graduating from beauty school, she worked for Bea Keffeler at Bea's Beauty Shop. When Bea retired, Judy took over managing the shop, and eventually bought it, calling it Generations of Style.
Judy retired from full time beautician work in 1997, but she enjoyed keeping her family and friends well groomed. After retirement, she continued to do what she loved, which was taking care of ladies' hair at local retirement homes in Sturgis. She made sure their hair was always perfectly trimmed and permed to perfection. She enjoyed traveling with her family, and took many trips to visit her older sister, Dorothy, in Oklahoma. Her greatest joy was spending time with her nieces, nephews, and cousins, and then with their children. Her other great love was her cats and her Boston Terriers.
Judy will be remembered for her kindness, her sense of humor, and her playfulness. She was a kid at heart, as any child who met her will remember.
