Obituary

Julie Marie Lundin-Haak, 53, of Rapid City, SD lost her long hard battle to cancer shortly after midnight on February 20th, 2021. While her hands were being held by some of the most important people in her life. We will always have an emptiness in our hearts.

Julie is survived by her love, Todd Srstka of Rapid City and their dog, Coco and cat, Kitty Meow. Melissa "Little Girl" Lundin of Rapid City, her first 2 grandchildren, (James "Cliffy" Clifford Lundin-18 and Miryah "Grandma's Girl" Avaline Lundin-14); her "Sonshine" Tanton Rosencranz with her one and only daughter-in-law Sara (Dean) Rosencranz of Belle Fourche, her other 2 pieces of her heart "Grandma's boys" (Billy Andrew Rosencranz-8 and Tate Allen Rosencranz-4); her Dad, James "Jim" Lundin of Piedmont, who she shared the strongest bond in her life with and will forever be his "Bug." Her brother Glenn Lundin and sister-in-law Julie (Pravecek) Lundin of Keystone, her sister Lorri (Lundin) Rombough and brother-in-law Nick Rombough of Rapid City, her nephews Robbie and Cameron Rombough of Rapid City, niece Allison (Alli Rombough) Munson with husband Eric and baby girl Munson of Rapid City. Scott (Sherri Vespestad) Lundin of Rapid City, her "bonus Mom" Kathy Srstka of City, her longest friendship Kimberly "Kimmie" Rose Schon with "Godson" Dylan Kusick and Mackenzie "Little Kimmie" Kusick of Belle Fourche. Sandra "Ms. Sandy" and husband Ray King of Rapid City. Misty (Barber) Marx of Dickenson, ND, Cameron (Cam) Novotny. This also includes everyone who Julie genuinely cared about and extended family and friends.

Julie attended Belle Fourche High School and later went for her medical coding and billing. When she was able to work, some of her employment history had a lot of childcare day-care providing in and out of her home. She carried a commercial driver license most of her adult life. She was a driver for emergency first responders, a school bus driver, assisted in managing the Northern Heights Cinema, ticket holder/box office/reservationist at Glenco in Sturgis, SD. She became a full-time Grandma until her health had given her enough grief. She was a very loving mother and grandma and had a close bond with every one of them. She was very kindhearted, genuinely cared for others and rarely ever missed wishing anyone happy birthday or happy holidays. Unfortunately, the way she has felt has been rather bothersome for her and her family throughout her life. If it was not her immune system not wanting to fight off a simple sickness, it was a surgery of some sorts bound to happen. Julie's wishes of not wanting a funeral service are what we are respecting. She wanted to be cremated and for us to think about her without any sadness or grief. We apologized for not informing most of you about her failing health. She did not want to disturb anyone with all that is going on in this world, let alone anyone to feel sorry for her.

Thank you for all the love and support you have shown for my Mom at this difficult time. Tanton and I appreciate it so much. I wish everyone peace through these unfortunate times.

Thank you, Todd, for loving our Mom and making sure she knew you did. You will forever be family. "Like sands through the hourglass, so are the days of our lives." ⏳
