IN LOVING MEMORY OF
June Carol
Treber
June 3, 1940 – July 22, 2018
June was born June 3, 1940, in Newell, SD, to John and Helen (Kumpula) Korpi. She graduated from Lead High School in 1958 and received her teaching degree from Black Hills State College. Her heart has always been in the Black Hills, and on July 16, 1960, she married the love of her life, David William Treber, in Lead, SD. June was a woman of character, integrity, passion, and service. She had a career teaching children to love learning in the Lead-Deadwood School System from 1970 to 1998. While she had a career teaching, she truly taught all others by example. June has left a loving legacy for her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and friends. She captivated those around her with her vigor for life. She took every opportunity to let her loved ones know how special they were in the form of notes, emails, cards, visits, and preserving memories. She and David moved to Spearfish in 2000 to spend their retirement years. She emulated patriotism and a love for God, as she was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church.
June Carol (Korpi) Treber, 78, passed away peacefully with family at her bedside at Regional Health Hospital in Spearfish, SD, on July 22, 2018, after an unexpected illness.
