Kammy Kay Trullinger, age 59, danced into our Heavenly Father’s loving arms on December 19, 2025, at her home in New Underwood, South Dakota, surrounded by family after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Kammy was born on February 16, 1966, in Greeley, Colorado, to Connie Wonenberg and Loren Root. She was later adopted by Dale Brauher and spent her childhood in Colorado and Wyoming. Some of her fondest memories were made at Meadowlark Lodge in the Big Horn Mountains with her dad Dale, bonus-mom Maxine, and extended family.
In 1988, Kammy gave her life to Christ and was born again. Her faith became the cornerstone of her life. In 1992, she married the love of her life, Ron Trullinger. Together they raised five daughters, creating a home filled with faith, love, and devotion. Their family was affectionately known as “Ron, Kammy, and girls.” Kammy also embraced Sarah as a spiritual daughter.
Kammy dedicated herself to caring for others. In the early years of marriage, she stayed home with her daughters while also serving as the office manager for Ron’s business and volunteering at The Good Samaritan Center. She later worked in assisted living and nursing home care, where she was known for her compassion and tireless dedication. The Lord used her as a vessel to lead many people to Christ.
She is survived by her husband Ron; daughters Amber Jo, Kolyn (DJ), Tabitha (Jesse), Moriah, Savanah; spiritual daughter Sarah; ten grandchildren; siblings Ron (Jodi), Rusty (Lorinda), Laurie (Jim), Vicki (Joe), Renee, Sherry, and Mike; and many other cherished family members and loved ones.
Kammy was preceded in death by her daughter Naomi Trullinger; all four parents; father-in-law Roland Trullinger; nephew Jason Trullinger; uncles Jesse and Keith Brauher; and other beloved family members.
Her life was a testimony of faith, strength, and love. Though her earthly battle has ended, she has claimed eternal victory with Jesus. There will be a Celebration of Life at The New Underwood Community Church; 300 S Bailey Ave. New Underwood, SD 57761 On Saturday, December 27, 2025, at 10am with a luncheon to follow in the fellowship hall.
