Kay Loraine (Weyrich) Carger was born February 4, 1943, in Sturgis, SD, to Vic and Rose Weyrich.  She lost her battle with cancer March 20, 2024, at her home in Rapid City, SD.

She is survived by her daughter, Melissa Kay Carger of Rapid City; her siblings, Vic (Corinne) Weyrich, Betty (Gail) Fremont, Pat Fippin, Jake Weyrich, and Mike (Rea) Weyrich; several nieces and nephews.

Kay's first home was on the Weyrich Family Homestead east of Sturgis.  Her family moved to Spearfish where Kay graduated from high school.  She lived in Arkansas, and Texas, then came home to South Dakota in 1989.

Kay will be remembered as the caregiver of the family.  She centered her life around her daughter, family and friends.

Kay is resting in the arms of Jesus.
