Keith Ray Moore, 65, Rapid City, died Friday, March 12, 2010 at his home west of Rapid City.
Memorial services will be 2 p.m. Friday, March 19, 2010 at the Kinkade Funeral Chapel in Sturgis with Pastor Danny Winter officiating.
A memorial has been established to Hospice of the Hills.
Keith was born August 7, 1944, in Vallejo, CA, to Lloyd and Faye (Dillon) Moore. He attended school in Spokane, WA, and Rapid City, SD.
Keith married Karol Kerbel at Deadwood on March 12, 1966. Together, they moved to Sioux Falls where Keith attended vocational training.
They moved back to Rapid City where Keith was employed by the Rapid City School District for the next 31 years as a locksmith.
Keith was a member of the Doty Volunteer Fire Department for 10 years. He served as the Chief for 2 years.
Keith enjoyed fishing, camping, family poker games, trips to Deadwood. He was an accomplished wood carver and could whittle spoons from chalkboards. He loved his family and will be remembered for his gentle kindness.
Survivors include his wife Karol, Rapid City; daughter, Kimberly Moore, Rapid City; son, Kristofer (Amanda) Moore, Muncy, PA; sister, Karon (John) Thomason, Rapid City; special sister in law and brother in law, Holly and Don Soukup, Gillette, WY; three special nieces, one special nephew and several great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.
