Keith L. Westover, 69, formerly of Moorcroft, WY, died Tuesday, August 19, 2008, at the Fort Meade VA Medical Center.
Graveside services will be held on Friday, August 29, 2008, at 11:00 a.m. at Black Hills National Cemetery with Father Bill Zandri officiating. Military honors will be provided by the Sturgis Veteran's Honor Guard. Those wishing to travel in procession to the cemetery with the family should meet at Kinkade Funeral Chapel at 10:30 a.m.
Keith was born August 20, 1938, in Rapid City, SD, to Justus and Florence (DeWitt) Westover. The family traveled extensively throughout his youth. After completing his education, Keith worked on ranches until he joined the US Navy at age 17. He served in the Navy for 30 years until his honorable discharge in 1978 when he returned to farming and ranching, which he thoroughly loved.
Keith enjoyed gardening, playing cribbage, traveling, hunting, and fishing. He also enjoyed going to casinos.
Survivors include four daughters, Alice (Roger) Royce, Salt Lake City, UT, Alvira Czubinski and Patrisha Cheatwood, both of Pensacola, FL, and Melody Rupe, California; his step-mother, Ellen McAdams; four brothers, Jerry (Betty) Westover, Coeur D' alene, ID, Clayton Westover, Riverton, WY, Clint (Twitter) Westover, Moorcroft, WY, and Wally (Carla) Dochow, Mora, MN; six sisters, Phyllis (Dick) Labaue, Lindstrom, MN, Lois (Dlbert) Jones, Tensleep, WY, Penny Gossil, Torington, WY, Justine (John) Reid, Hulett, WY, Merna (Jim) Boyd, Stover, MO, Mona Bears, Hulett, WY; ten grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A memorial has been established to the VA Hospice Unit.
