IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Kenneth Wayne
Binger
May 10, 1946 – January 6, 2022
Kenneth Wayne Binger, 75, born May 1946, died at home in Sturgis on January 6, 2022. Interment of Ashes services with Honors will be held at 1:30 PM, June 24, 2022, at the Black Hills National Cemetery.
Ken, son of LaVerne and Minnie (Carlson) Binger, was born in Redfield, South Dakota and spent his early years on the family's Century Farm west of Tulare, SD. While still in high school he enlisted in the United States Army and transferred to the National Guard spending 32 years as an active guardsman. He was at summer training when the flood swept through Rapid City in 1972 and was called upon to provide search and rescue as well as recovery services following that tragedy. Military service was a source of pride and connection to his grandfather (WWI), father (WWII), brother, and son who also served with pride.
Ken was preceded in death by his parents and younger brother, Rodney (Rod) Binger. Left to mourn his passing are his daughter, Tristina Michelle Moody, Lincoln, Nebraska; his son, Brandon Ray (Carrie) Binger, Wichita, Kansas; his sister, Linda Diane (Kip) Matkins, Rapid City, South Dakota; six grandchildren-Austin, Riley, and Cole Moody, Avery, Garrett and Paxton Binger, and cousins, nieces, nephews, and extended family.
A graveside service will be held Friday, June 24, 2022, 1:30 p.m., with military honors, at Black Hills National Cemetery.
