Kenneth Charles Carroll was born on June 9, 1943, to Joseph and Ruth (Huehl) Carroll in Pierre, South Dakota. He passed away November 22, 2024, at Avera St. Mary's Hospital in Pierre.

He lived in Onida and Fort Pierre where he attended school until the 11th grade. Kenneth joined the US Navy on July 19, 1963, and was stationed on the USS Yorktown during the Vietnam War.

Kenneth married Nancy Bame, and together they had two children, Kenny Carroll of Aberdeen, SD and Kevin Carroll of Pierre. Ken and Nancy divorced but remained friends through the years. He was one of nine children to which three sisters remain, Verna Deal, Minnesota, RuthEllen (Warren) Cooley, Washington, and Ina Bogdanski of Ohio. Kenneth looked forward to seeing his two grandsons Jason (Kaitlyn) Carroll, Pierre, and Skylar Carroll, Ft. Pierre, and other grandchildren Daneca Warren, Colby Carroll, Sway Carroll and his four great grandsons and his newest great granddaughter.

He loved to talk about his trucking days and all the places that he visited. Kenneth made some special friends over the last few years that he spent family get togethers and holidays with. Dave and Nicole Sayler and their son Taryn, and his girlfriend Katrina and their daughter, Riley of Harrisburg are eternally grateful for the time they spent with Ken.

A private burial will take place in the spring at Black Hills National Cemetery in Sturgis.
