Kenneth W. McCollom was the youngest of three children born to Harold V. and Gretchen (Thornburg) McCollom on November 12, 1936, between Sundance and Hullett, WY, near Sunny Divide.

This was the reason he was known to most as "Sonny." He was raised in Osage and attended school there until graduating from 8th grade. He attended high school in Newcastle, graduating in 1954.

He married Patricia Braley in 1953. They had two children, Rick and Joyce. They later divorced. He later met the love of his life, Arlene Anne Trenham of Custer, SD. They were married on June 25, 1960. To this union, they had four children; Kenneth, Jr., Rodney, a little girl, Arlene, who died at birth, and Todd.

Ken graduated from Wel-Tech Electronics School in Salt Lake City, UT, in 1963. They moved to California where he went to work for General Dynamics. In 1971, the family moved back to Osage where he went to work for Butte Resources, Petro-Lewis, and other various places.

Ken loved spending time with family and friends telling jokes and playing cards. He enjoyed fly fishing, camping, hunting, and gardening.

Ken passed on Sunday March 25, 2018, at Weston County Health Services in Newcastle, WY.

He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Arlene of Newcastle; his children, Rick (Linda) of LA, Joyce Hall of Cheyenne, WY, Kenneth of MO, Rodney of Newcastle, and Todd (Lynette) McCollom of NV; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Arlene; and two sisters, Eleanor (Tom) Beale and Phyllis (John) Reynolds.

A memorial services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, April 7, 2018, at the Newcastle Senior Center.
