Kenneth H. Swaney, 41, Rapid City, died Tuesday, July 28, 2009 in Rapid City.

Services will be 4 p.m. Friday at the Salvation Army Chapel.

A second service will be offered Monday, August 3, 2009 at 11 a.m. at the Salvation Army Chapel in Sioux Falls.

Burial will take place at a later date.

Ken was born January 13, 1968 at Sioux Falls, SD, to Harold and Sandy (Hennings) Swaney. He grew up in Sioux Falls and graduated from Washington High School in 1986.

Ken married Dawn Walker at Sioux Falls on June 2, 1990.

Ken was a carpet installer for over twenty years. He worked for Interstate Flooring when the family moved to Rapid City in 2005.

Ken enjoyed fishing, bowling, Nascar and softball.

Survivors include his wife Dawn Swaney, Rapid City; son Steven Swaney, Rapid City; parents, Harold and Sandy Swaney, DeSmet, SD; one brother, Randy Swaney, Stillwater, MN; one sister Suelynn Swaney, Sioux Falls; and his grandmother, Marion Haugstad, Sioux Falls.

He was preceded in death by one son, Justin.
