Kitty Fern Coffield was born May 26, 1939. The daughter of Joseph and Delvia (Smith) O'Dell, Kitty passed away unexpectedly on September 23, 2017.

Kitty began her teaching career in the Terraville school district and was a long time substitute teacher for the Lead-Deadwood school system. She was a strong believer in No Child Left Behind.

She enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting, and was a very active collector of all things Unicorns.

She is survived by her five children, Jack Raymond Coffield of Spearfish, Johnny Dale (Judy) Coffield of Belle Fourche, Susan Dell (Tom) Transcynger of Gillette, WY, Sherry Marie (Kenny) Leaver of Whitewood, and Kasey James (Kristine) Coffield of Spearfish; twelve grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; one sister, Flo (O'Dell) Barnes of Baltimore, MD; three brothers, Joseph O'Dell of Blundt, SD, and Doyle O'Dell of Lead, SD and Randall Shell; partner, Mike Porter of Deadwood; and extended family.

Preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, James O'Dell and John Charles O'Dell and one sister, Jackalynn O'Dell.
