Obituary

Kyle Christopher Reynolds, 24, passed away Saturday, June 8, 2019.
Kyle Christopher Reynolds was born July 24, 1994, to Sheila Houchin and Christopher Reynolds. When Kyle was little, he thoroughly enjoyed playing Zelda with his mom. She recalled that she had a silky nightgown she never got to use because he had to sleep with it. He called it his "night get down", and wouldn't go to bed without it.
Kyle grew up and attended school in Sturgis and Rapid City. He enjoyed swimming, camping, hiking, and anything to do with being outdoors. He enjoyed going to the movies and loved the TV series Ghost Adventures. Anything out of the ordinary was right up his alley as he was very adventurous.
Kyle enjoyed video games with his younger siblings and football, rooting for the Denver Broncos. He had and immense love for cats and would have had a 100 if he could. Kyle was extremely excited to become an uncle for the first time in August to his sister's (Tori) baby. Kyle will be forever missed.
Kyle was preceded in death by his sister, Dara Ann Reynolds; great-aunt, Maryann Remer; and grandfather, Wayne Reynolds.
He survived by his mother, Sheila (Ben) Standing Bear, Whitewood; and father, Christopher Reynolds, Rapid City; sisters, Tori Keffeler and Tyra Standing Bear, Whitewood; brothers, Bradin, Brandin, and Tage Standing Bear, Whitewood; grandparents, Candy (Larry) Morrell, Sturgis, Herb Houchin, Sturgis, Ann Reynolds, Minnesota, and Patti Reynolds, Sturgis; aunts, Joie Houchin, Spearfish, Shelli (Mike) Nelson, Sturgis, and Stacy Reynolds, Minnesota; uncles, Josh (Dani) Houchin, Sturgis, and Shannon Houchin, Piedmont; and special friend, Shay Wricks, Sturgis.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. at Believers Fellowship Church in Sturgis on Friday, June 21, 2019.

Kyle was born July 24, 1994, in Spearfish, SD. He grew up in Sturgis and Rapid City, living with his dad in Rapid City. He lived with Grandma Patty and Grandpa Wayne in Sturgis while his dad was deployed and held active jobs with the National Guard. He attended school in Rapid City and Sturgis. He graduated from Rapid City High School. Kyle worked in the restaurant business in Rapid city since his graduation.
Kyle loved playing football, skateboarding, and was really into video games. He loved doing anything outdoors, especially fishing, camping, and hiking. He was an avid, dyed in the wool, Denver Broncos fan. Hiking became very important and necessary as he developed rheumatoid arthritis. Kyle's dream was to have a remote cabin in the hills which he would have to hike in and out to.
Kyle and his sister, Dara, had a very close relationship. Dara made the plan and Kyle executed it with excitement, and when things went wrong, Kyle took the blame. Kyle was devastated and never recovered from the death of his sister in 2016. Kyle has now joined his sister and Grandpa Wayne in Heaven.
Kyle was a poster child for the current opioid epidemic sweeping this country. Kyle Christopher Reynolds died Saturday, June 8, 2019, of a drug overdose.
He is survived by his father, Christopher Reynolds; his mother, Sheila Standing Bear; his step-siblings, Tori Keffeler, and Braden, Branden, Tyra, and Tage Standing Bear; his grandparents, Patty Reynolds, Anne Reynolds, Candy and Larry Morrell, and Herb Houchin; aunts, Stacy, Shelly, and Joie; uncle, Josh and Shannon; and various cousins.
A celebration of life and time of sharing memories will be held at the Reynolds' home, 12343 Whitewood Road, on Sunday, June 23rd at 3:00 p.m. All of Kyle's family and friends are invited.
