Kymberly "Kym" Barnes, 47, passed away on July 15, 2017 at Rapid City Regional Hospital in Rapid City.
She was born on April 10, 1970 in Downey, California to Theodore and Zoe (Hefley) Whitaker.
On March 10, 2012 in Roseau, Minnesota, Kym married the love of her life, Jeff Barnes.
Kym leaves behind her husband and best friend, Jeff Barnes, Rapid City; daughter, Kayla Whitaker, Sioux Falls, South Dakota; sons, Kris Whitaker, Roseau, Minnesota and Brandon Whitaker, Rapid City; mother and step-father, Zoe and Rick Shane, Anaheim, California; step-mother, Karol Whitaker, Ringgold, Georgia; and five beautiful grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father, Ray Whitaker; paternal grandparents, Bernice and Leviga Whitaker; and maternal grandparents, Louise and Harris Hefley.
Cremation has taken place and no services are being planned at this time.
