IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Larry Doil
Morgan
October 1, 1937 – October 12, 2024
Larry Doil Morgan was born in Flint, Michigan on October 1,1937 to Doil and Ilene Morgan. Larry spent his childhood in Newcastle, Wyoming where he attended school and enjoyed wrestling, eventually becoming a State Champion wrestler. Throughout his childhood, he enjoyed time spent outdoors hunting and fishing with his dad and brother, Denny. He also had two sisters, Sharon and Judy. All four siblings had a special bond and remained close throughout their lives. In high school, he met Sandra Jean Schwandner who he would marry on September 26, 1956. Together the couple had three children: LeAnn Larri born in 1957, Randy Doil followed in 1958 and Laura Ilene in 1961.
Larry was a hard worker and devoted his life to providing for his family. He maintained two jobs throughout most of his working career. He worked as an assistant manager in the grocery store business and also worked in the oil field industry. Larry was also instrumental in the construction of the coal silos at Jacob's Ranch.
After working throughout adulthood, he was able to retire and stated this was the happiest day of his life.
In 2012, Larry and Sandy left Newcastle and moved to Spearfish to enjoy their retirement years. Together they enjoyed trips to Deadwood and time spent with family. Larry and Sandy shared 60 years of memories and marriage until her passing in 2017.
One of Larry's true passions in life was hunting. He was an avid outdoorsman, conquering three black bears during various hunting excursions. One bear in 1964 near Jackson Lake, another in 1972 in the Tetons and the third in 1980 also in the Tetons. He conquered over twenty elk and two moose in Yellowstone.
Everyone who knew Larry knew he loved sports. He followed the Atlanta Braves since 1953 and was ecstatic when they won the World Series. He also loved the Wyoming Cowboys.
Larry's favorite thing to do was to go to Deadwood, SD. He loved it all! The gambling, the food, the people and of course…winning!

''There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens: a time to be born and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to uproot, a time to kill and a time to heal, a time to tear down and a time to build, a time to weep and a time to laugh, a time to mourn and a time to dance."
