IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Laurie Etta
Vainio
February 19, 1941 – February 11, 2014
Laurie E. (Fair) Vainio, 72, passed away peacefully at her home near Whitewood, SD on February 11, 2014. She was born on a farm near Royal Oak, Michigan on February 19, 1941, to parents Jesse and Gladys (Gregory) Fair. Laurie was born a triplet and was 1 of 9 children.
She met her husband, John Vainio while visiting her Grandparents in Sturgis. She married him in 1963, raised 2 children, and was proud of her life on the farm where they both led a successful life in dairy farming and beef cattle. Her door was always open to any stray dog, stray cat, or stray person. She wasn't shy of hard work and loved every moment of the farm and what it stood for. She was a modest woman that had a talent for all types of art including drawing and wood crafts. She carried a smile everywhere she went and had a generous heart to anyone in need. She was a loving wife, beloved mother, hard worker, lovingly stubborn, one of a kind, and loved by all.
Family and friends are invited to "come as you are" and share this Celebration of Life at the Kinkade Funeral Chapel in Sturgis on Saturday, April 26 at 2pm.
Laurie is survived by her daughter, Tina (Chris) and four grandchildren of St. Paul, Minnesota; her son, Curt (Debbie) of Stafford, Virginia; her triplet sister, Loraine Faschingbauer of Bloomer, Wisconsin; and triplet brother, Loa (Ruth) Fair of Paragould, Arkansas; sister, Betty (Raymond) Rousch of Dolph, Arkansas; and brothers, Jesse F. (Jo Ann) Fair of Troy, Michigan; and brother, William L. Fair of Eau Claire, Wisconsin. She is preceded in death by her husband, John, and brothers, Edward, Harry, and Jack.
