Lawrence Lee "Larry" Everett, 66, Sturgis, died Monday, February 5, 2007, at the Rapid City Regional Hospital.
Visitation will be Friday from 8:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. at Kinkade Funeral Chapel. Graveside services will be held on Friday, February 9, 2007, at 11:00 a.m. at Black Hills National Cemetery. Military honors will be provided by the Sturgis Veteran's Honor Guard. Friends and family may gather at Kinkade Funeral Chapel prior to leaving for the cemetery.
Larry was born December 15, 1940, at Chamberlain, SD, to Merle and Edith (Weber) Everett. He attended school in Custer and spent his summers in Chamberlain working on the family farm. He joined the US Navy in 1958 and served until his honorable discharge in 1961. Larry loved mining and prospecting. He worked at Homestake Mining Company for 21 years and many other area mines. He was a member of the Gold Prospectors Association of America. He also loved history, especially Black Hills history.
Survivors include one son, Todd Everett, Sturgis; one daughter, Tanya Everett, Sioux Falls, SD; one brother, Fred Heidepriem, Gillette, WY; one sister, Karla Lyndoe, Custer, SD; and a special friend, Ann Spencer, Sturgis. He was preceded in deah by his parents and two brothers.
