Lawrence "Larry" A. Hoff, 83, of Victoria, Kansas, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2017, in Pine Haven of natural causes.
He was born Aug. 12, 1933, to Charles and Josephine Hoff in Emmeram, Kansas. He was the second youngest of 11 children.
In April 1954, he married Barbara Corcoran in Oberlin, Kansas. To this union, five children were born. The family lived in Kansas, Nebraska, Wyoming and South Dakota while he worked in the oil and gas industry.
The couple later divorced and he married Ardell Laughlin in 1972, gaining four stepchildren. They owned and operated a bar and café in Hot Springs, South Dakota, while married.
He then lived in Salem, Oregon, for about 10 years working as a custodian and spending time with his youngest daughter. After retirement, he returned to Kansas to help care for one of his brothers.
Larry is survived by his children, James "Pat" (Lori) Mitchell of Gillette, Cathy (Ed) Gorder of Rozet, Debby (Barry) Fuller of Loveland, Colorado, and Terri Mitchell (Sunny Schell) of Pine Haven; his stepchildren, Robert (Susan) Laughlin of Rapid City, South Dakota, Mary Ann (Ron) Palmer of Golden Valley, Arizona, and John (Paula) Laughlin of Rapid City, South Dakota; 15 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; both ex-wives; all of his siblings; son, Richard Hoff; stepson, Ronald Hoff; granddaughter, Hannah Fuller; and grandson, Matthew Gradin.
Interment will be at a later date in Rapid City, South Dakota.
