Lawrence (Larry) W. Meirose, 63, of Sturgis passed away January 6, 2014 at Rapid City Regional Hospital. Larry was in the Air Force and then worked at Fort Meade VA Medical Center for 30 years. Larry enjoyed target shooting, camping, fishing, riding motorcycles, playing cribbage, watching movies, and drinking diet Coke.

Larry is survived by his daughter, Valerie Meirose Armstrong of Auburn, AL; his long-time significant other, Twyla Svalstad, and her family, of Sturgis; 7 siblings: Kathy Pearce and family of Pflugerville, TX; Rita Bee and family of Belle Fourche/Spearfish; Joan Lutey and family of Albuquerque, NM; Mary Flesner and family of Sturgis; Pat Fischer and family of Rapid City; Gary Meirose and family of Hot Sulphur Springs, CO; and Anne Meirose and family of Seattle, WA. Larry is preceded in death by his parents, Jerome and Alice Meirose; nephews, Steve, Rocky, and Dane; and a great-nephew Andrew.

At Larry's request, funeral services will not be scheduled at this time. A private family memorial will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Fort Meade Hospital in Sturgis in Larry's name.

Larry was a wonderful man who was loved by many and will be greatly missed.
