Lawrence Schaub, 87, peacefully passed in his home on February 25th, 2023.

Lawrence was born on September 24th, 1935, in Fruitdale, South Dakota to George and Emma Schaub. The Schaub family moved to a farm on the outskirts of Belle Fourche when he was 5, where he found his passion for farming that grew his entire life. By age 10 he was working the land with a team of horses, but really fell in love with farming when the family started to buy tractors. He had a passion for all things mechanical and worked on tractors and cars up until his passing.

Lawrence attended school in Belle Fourche and graduated May of 1954. After graduation he started working at Frey's Hardware where he learned how to install carpet and furthered his education by attending a service school to service appliances. He would continue to work for Frey's for the next sixteen years until they closed in 1970. He then opened his own business, Larry's Appliance & Carpet where he sold and installed carpet and sold and repaired appliances. Even after he closed his business in 1994, he continued to install carpet for the rest of his life.

On February 3rd, 1956, he married the love of his life, Janet Schulze, and together they had six children: Joy, Larry, Kay, Deline, Sheryl and Rodney whom they raised in Belle Fourche, S.D.  They were married 65 years until she passed February 13th, 2021.

He loved the Lord, his family and the land.  He will be missed by those who truly loved and cared about him.

He is survived by his children: Joy (John) Sabo, Larry (Debbie) Schaub, Kay (Bob) Dvorak, Deline (Brad) Henderson, Sheryl (Jamie) Hale, Rodney (Rachel) Schaub, 22 Grandchildren, 31 Great Grandchildren; his brother, Wilfred Schaub; sisters, Evelyn Shipley and Elenor Hall.

He was preceded in death by his wife Janet Schaub and parents George and Emma Schaub.
